SMARTDMO

The SMARTDMO project, proposed by five young Calabrians, has three specific objectives:

  • launch innovative routes of cooperation among the DMO (Destination Management Organisation), the tourism operators, and citizens;
  • create a community of professionals capable of listening to and creating a dialogue with real and potential visitors through online and offline channels;
  • encourage organisations, institutions, micro-businesses, and PMIs operating in the tourism sector to utilise digital technologies and the internet.

SMARTDMO is a knowledge community, a digital collaborative space available to public and private tourism agents who will manage their tourist products and promotional/commercialisation strategies via the internet, with a focus on sharing, collaboration, and the direct participation of PAs, businesses, and citizens.

The platform is articulated in two main sections. One is focused on the construction of the product and the other on the definition of promotional/commercialisation plans.

Currently the platform is in beta version and platform testing is taking place in the National Park of Sila.

Included in subsequent stages will be on-site testing in the Piedmont region with the help of the "Le Terre dei Savoia" Association and the Alba Bra Langhe Roero Tourism Body.
