Description The project involves the formation of professionals owning multidisciplinary competences in order to be able to apply different knowledge and technologies for the diagnostics, control, and management of railway systems security. Currently, the Italian and European universities train professionals, such as engineers, chemists and physicists, whose competences are limited to a specific scientific sector. Consequently, there is a growing need for companies the availability of professionals with competences characterized by a strong interdisciplinary nature. In particular, with reference to the goals of the Research Project associated to this Training Project, it is necessary to train high level technicians able to contribute to the development of in situ and real-time monitoring systems for several physical parameters able to characterize the operating status of rail systems in order to enhance security and efficiency. On this line, the present training project involves the training of fifteen unit of professionals, whose aforementioned competences would lead their introduction in the research and production on high tech sensing systems suitable to improve safety and efficiency in rail system.
