DiEM 'Marketng Emozionale Dialog-based'

Code PON01_03003
Field/s Energy
Description The purpose of the subject project called DiEM (Dialog-based Emotional Marketing) aims at integrating researches on the subject of Web contents retrieval, indexing and evaluation(i.e. Web Mining and Retrieval), and on man-machine interfaces,in order to work out interactive paradigms for the search and divulgation of web information and its utilisation in different application environments. The technologies so far analysed are meant to be used in order to set up research processes based on innovative but essential capabilities of dialogue using natural language, between software systems and users, to achieve a direct, natural and incremental intermediation with the final user. In DiEM it is therefore proposed a research process meant to explore the spaces which are defined by contents, rather than carrying out a traditional interrogation of structured data collection. The idea is value traditional human communications practices based on languages through dialogue. In this perspective, the technology and the activities proposed by DiEM have the following major purposes: (1)To allow the collection and transformation of the information sources in order to use the contents directly during the phase of final interaction with the user, through conceptual models(e.g. the genre of a musical track) that are independent from the data original formats(e.g. a video or an audio music file); (2)To plan and develop a paradigm for research and use of the contents collected from widespread sources, as interactive exploration process or Interactive Question Answering;(3)To validate such models through case studies which represent a sample for the application of technological processes (e.g. in eGovernment or marketing systems aimed at the citizens or to specific sector operators,i.e. doctors or psychotherapists),able to meet the actual measure and experimental validation of the approach quality. We therefore intend to define in DiEM a platform for the development of Interactive Question Answering applications in specific application domains which constitutes a standard and a development environment which can be largely re-used within the related ICT chain environment. The software platform that is proposed in DiEM is based on an end-to-end model which can be called “Infrastructure-to-application”. It is composed of a technological infrastructure distributed in the network, of some functional components and basic software services, as well as of a Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for the development of the Interactive Question Answering application. It will therefore be possible to use the resulting platform through basic functionalities which will allow a rapid prototypisation of human-like software agents capable of dialogue(i.e. avatar) in different applications. The basic functionalities include dialogue architectures which can be almost fully re-used in specific domains, e.g. to create customised palimpsests for TV entertainment. The use of different applications does not undermine the capability of information collection processes. The system (or the infrastructure represented by) DiEM enables a rapid prototypisation of the Interactive Question Answering avatar allowing to obtain in a natural way (based on linguistic communication) useful information related to the domain of interest. All of this is made possible by providing the following functionalities: • Effective collection of relevant information within the domain • Intelligent access to new online contents • Conceptual aggregation of data (domain ontology) • Dialogue control through computational models for linguistics aspects (e.g. user’s specific rhethorics and jargon) and User Models • Dynamical creation of linguistics expressions to answer the user, depending on the available data configuration and the dialogue status • Analysis and use of user specific models (detection of elements related to emotional status, used for user data description)
